Will has been busy in the last month volunteering his time for a number of Bio·R’s conservation projects. In mid-June, he took part in the Frahn’s Farm planting festival near Monarto, where he helped install nest boxes. Trees take many years to develop natural hollows, so by adding nest boxes to the area as well as planting, one can offer birds like Owlet Nightjars somewhere to breed, as well as feed and shelter.
And, just last week, Will was getting his hands dirty again, this time at Cygnet Park Sanctuary, Kangaroo Island, a property that has had 200ha of habitat restored (https://bior.org.au/projects/). Will was involved in planting a couple of hundred plants to help increase species’ diversity on the property.
