Note: as of 27th April this post does not apply. Please see the above post.
For the safety of patients and staff, Prospect Dentistry has always followed the strictest infection-control protocols. Since, COVID-19 was identified in South Australia, we have employed additional measures to continue providing a service to the community.
However, in light of the recent social distancing recommendations and those specifically made by the Australian Dental Association relating to dentistry, I have decided to delay all treatments that are considered non-essential for the time being. Please note that I have not made this decision lightly, as our patients’ dental health and wellbeing is a priority, but I believe it is the right course of action to take for the safety of patients, staff and our society in general.
Consequently, Prospect Dentistry will not continue to treat patients for:
- Routine dental examinations and scale and cleans, or for
- Routine fillings or other restorative work.
We will continue to treat patients for:
- Relief of pain and/or emergencies, such as dental pain and broken teeth, and
- To complete treatment that has been started.
However, please do not hesitate to contact Prospect Dentistry (8269 1999) at any time if you feel there is a dental matter that cannot be postponed.
Below are a few important notes regarding the disruption to our services. Please read these and if you need anything explained in more detail then please call or email us. Most importantly, please understand that we are still here to care for your dental heath should the need arise.
Finally, we appreciate your ongoing support in these unprecedented times as we work towards a healthy and safe community.
Dr Will King
Prospect Dentistry’s opening hours will change to Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. During these times, a staff member will always be present to answer the phone and respond to email enquiries.
Confirmed cases of COVID-19 and patients in self-isolation for COVID-19
If you have dental pain and have COVID-19 or are in self-isolation for COVID-19, please contact Prospect Dentistry. Due to Government regulation and the safety and wellbeing of our staff and other patients, we cannot treat you in our rooms but we will direct you to the appropriate care.
You will be contacted if you already have an appointment or are due for a recall check and clean. I will personally read your patient file and decide an appropriate length of postponement for your treatment and or check-up and clean. Your appointment will be a priority when our normal practice resumes.
I am retaining all of my staff and a new fortnightly roster has been created, to minimise the risk of a disruption to service should staff members need to be quarantined or self-isolated for 2 weeks. Please note that during this time, you will either see Dr Dave Power or myself for any dental procedures.
Timeframe for Changes
As I am sure you are aware, COVID-19 is causing much uncertainty and requiring businesses to review work practises – currently the situation is fluid and advice and changes are occurring almost daily. Consequently, I cannot put a timeframe on these changes to our opening hours and service; they may be short-term or may be in the order of months. I will keep you informed of any updates.
I understand that you may be undergoing financial hardship due to COVID-19 and may consequently find it difficult to pay for any necessary dental treatment. If you are a current patient of Prospect Dentistry and this applies to you, please discuss this with my staff and we can negotiate a payment plan and/or the reduction or waiver of fees.
